Hi Everyone, just joined the forum looks a grate wealth on knowledge, I'm after some help with my hybrid, its a halfords bike that came stock with 8 speed cassette 2 up front, the rear was 12-25, i have been looking to go upto a 32 on the rear due to where i live and this weekend iv finally got around to it, iv replaced the cassette for a sram 11-32 sg830, iv had to replace the derailer as well as mine was had a short cage, i bought a Shimano alivio long cage and i replaced the chain, its a Taya OCTO 8 speed chain, all well apart from one problems, I'm getting massive jumping of the chain only when on the 11 tooth, it the same on both up front rings, i have gone over the derailer adjustments and everything is spot on, i can replicate it upside down and the chain seems to ride up on top on the bottom teeth then jumps forward.

iv trailed the internet and normally this is due to worn parts but as its all new I'm struggling here with this one

any help would be grate

The limit screw could be slightly out, the indexing could be slightly out (it tends to show up more on smaller rear sprockets), the chain could be too long (ditto) or you might have stiff links in the chain or a problem with the quick-link (check and see if it's always at the same spot on the chain).

If none of the above, the only other likely cause would be bad seating/something trapped between the smallest and next-smallest sprockets in the cassette - if in doubt, take it off, separate the sprockets (that can be separated... usually the smallest 2 or 3) and clean/check/reassemble.
