I have used them twice, both ten mile rides and managing about 20 miles an hour. So half an hour of sweating profusely and heart rate gradually rising!

Just wondering what the best way to use them is. Should I stick to ten miles and try to do it quicker, stick to half an hour and go further, or try to build the time up at the same speed?

Also, is interval training a better option? Never done this so any tips would be gratefully received.

Main thing is, I am enjoying them and it means I'm getting a couple of mid-week rides in to keep the muscles going.

I stuck to tens mainly progressively building them faster or longer. For my skill levels though rollers are not about variable interval training, rather progressive smooth building.

I've had rollers now for a few years (probably quite a few!) and I tend to do the same sessions on rollers as I do on the turbo - intervals from a set of Youtube vids. These are worth a look at (see links below) - they range from 45 minute to 90 minute sessions. That said - there's really no substitute for getting out on the road, whenever the weather permits. I discovered today that all the hard work spent on the rollers/turbo are never as hard as doing it out on the road

That said, if you're happy doing what you're doing then why change anything? If you do try some of the videos on Youtube I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Thanks for the advice and links. I will try them, the doorway I use to stay alive happens to face the computer so these might just be what I'm after.

Great, thanks for these - I usually just slog it out on the rollers for an hour at 40km/h. this might actually be fun.
