Hello all!

Newbie hear, looking forward to getting ivolved in plenty of threads over the next few weeks at least!

Slightly apprehensive of writing this. I have read the sticky on 'which bike' etc, but think I need to be more thorough.

Anyways, currently have a mtb (with broken (locked) suspension / skinnyish tyres), on which last year did LOADS of road miles, in training for C2C. This year we're doing a similar thing, but more training will be needed, and its making sense for me to get myself a road bike...

but, has to fit the following criteria..

1. Ideally reasonably comfortable for long trecks (will be getting a decent saddle too).
2. Must be suitable for climbs (im guessing plenty of gears will be a good thingl?)
3. Ideally fairly lightweight, for speed training as well.

So guys, whats out there in the region of £500 - £600 new price. I'll be tempted to go 2nd hand if it means getting a much better bike for my money. New would be nice though...

Also feel free to suggest any specific add-ons. So far im thinking, decent saddle, shorts, and maybe "tri-bars"?

Any help will be very kind ;)

Specialized Allez or Allez Sport would fit the bill with a triple chain ring.

Youll get more response if you post this in 'Beginners'

I can recomend the Scott Speedster, I myself have a S40, not a monster but the bike is super due to the price! When I bought it was last-years model, second-hand. Think it had went just 30 km and the price was just about 700£
