Have a Raleigh Xanthos MTB at the end of its usability now.

It weighs 15.4 kg

Is there anything lighter available in the UK please?

Just something basic - for off-road exercising really.

Plenty of mountain bikes will be lighter, including hardtails. When you say off road, MTB terrain or parks and paths.

If the latter, get a bike without suspension, it'll be lighter

The problem is basic and lightweight don't normally go hand in hand. Maybe second hand market would give more options.

Thanks, I'm looking for an equivalent, in price & performance, to the Raleigh Xanthos MTB - but lighter - certainly not heavier.

I want something lighter than the Xanthos, even slightly lighter; I don't want front and rear suspension - the last two wheeler I had with front and rear suspension was a 125cc motorcycle. Today I just want an off-road MTB for exercise, thank you!

A Carrera Subway would fit the bill as a modern all purpose bike, although not the lightest.

Most bikes marketed as MTBs nowadays have suspension.
If you want one without, look for something from the 90s second hand like the one you have

How off road do you go? If not rough stuff, you could get a bike marketed as a rigid hybrid (flat bars) or gravel (usually drop bars)
