Hi all,
I am new to cycling and am looking at getting a new bike. I will be using it for country commuting, off road (trails etc).
I am keen on the btwin rockrider 540 (womens bike) but wondered if anyone else had any advice or reviews on btwin bikes? Have looked at a few others but it seems youre getting less for your money, having to pay over £400 for lockout suspension.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I have a budget of max £400.

Your advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

:welcome: If you're insistent on front suspension then forks with a lockout are a must, why not look at a rigid MTB.

Note that the wheel size is 650b/27.5". Commuter tyres are not yet commonplace in shops, you have to order them.
27.5" has all but replaced traditional 26" MTB as the "small" MTB wheel, but it was introduced as the medium wheel. If you are much below 5'2" or so, you may find that frames for 26" are better proportioned.
Rockriders are good value, have sensible everyday features such as rack eyelets and rack-compatible rear brake location.

I've had loads of Rockrider/Btwin bikes and have loved them all, still have them in fact, you shouldn't go wrong wth this, it's got good spec for the money and is within sight of your budget, you will be hard pushed to find better for £450!!
