Hello everyone!

I'm doing a PhD in tribology in Leeds. I've been here for about a year and having got a bike over the summer I'm just starting to commute to work by bike and will hopefully work my way up to doing longer rides. I've done a little track cycling as well, which I absolutely love and I do admit one of the main reasons for riding more on the road is so I can get better on the track!

I'm also keen to find some friendly people to ride with, as although I'm very enthusiastic I'm quite slow and don't know many routes around here!

So... hello :hello:

:hello: @Norreka and :welcome: to CycleChat ! :wahhey: What (kind of) bike have you got ?

There are quite a few CC Members around the Leeds area and have you seen the Leeds Cycle Campaign for some routes and riding company ? :bicycle:

Tribology sounds just the thing for a cyclist :becool: - and a member of CC ! :notworthy: The questions may start soon ...

Ride Safe and enjoy both your studies :addict: and the lumpy bits around Leeds ...

Thanks everyone! And hello to all other Yorkshire residents

I've got a Specialized Tricross - my first drop-bar bike which has taken a bit of getting used to but I really like it!

A PHd in Tribology sounds wearing.

Depends if they are specialising int the lubrication side of the topic. It is a Phd after all
