Now being offerred by Ultrafire and Eastward under £40, who is going to be brave enough to trial them out for us all ?

Check out todays new additions.

Eastward version appears to come with a better mounting.

800 lumens output instead of 900 on the Magicshine. Also 'batteries not included' so you would need to budget for them, so it doesn't work out any cheaper. However the 18650 batteries slot in individually in to the battery holder so you could then charge them separately which gets around the potential issues of charging all 4 together.

The Ultrafire version seems to be identical to the 3-mode Magicshine
The Eastward version has a proper handlebar clamp and looks more waterproof, but doesn't come with batteries or charger.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the brightness difference - they aren't 800/900 lumens anyway, and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference without careful back and forth comparison.

Looks like the ultrafire is old stock with the old battery pack that has been reduced to clear .

The eastwood version looks interesting as you can charge the batteries separately and can replace them if they burn out individually rather than forking out for a whole new pack .They would probably cost about the same as a standard MS by the time you have got a charger and batteries.
