No idea, but I've got a very cheap "Areo" helmet from Planet X which does the job, nice and light fits well.

I like the Giro Indicator, in fact so much I have two of them. Cheap enough to replace and comfortable. £30 from acycles at them moment.

Depends on your reasons for buying it. Specialized are considered the best road helmets for safety.

Quite happy with my Bell Solar for general duties. I'd buy another. My criteria include lightness, vents and bug netting as I have a horror of getting a wasp up the vent.

Depending on how flush you feel there is a new thing called MIPS, which allows a slight 5mm rotation in the helmet. But its new and only a few manufacturers are using it. Its also expensive.

i will be starting to commute in a few days, and need to replace the one i currently use that is years old. I will only be on the bike for 20-30 mins each way

Go to shops, try some on. Buy the one that best fits head and budget. Very individual, can only suggest what fits own head, not yours

Specialized meet more stringent safety standard, start around £30...but may not fit you which is the most important thing

I can't remember what I have at the mo, but it is a 'branded' one, was just after suggestions if there were a couple of great standout lids that was all. It's a shame the lbs are closing at the rate they are though, will see who is local..

Not really, kask seem popular with mamils but start at £60+

If you sweat a lot might be worth spending more on a lighter better vented helmet

The giro indicator is decent, mtb style with peak, sold by halfords for example

I've a specialized shaped head it seems, - round, whereas my kids aren't, you need to try them on to see how they fit.

Go for one with an adjustment at the back, the ones without just tend to move around on your head more.
