New FD.

Hi all.

Need a new front derailleur, as mine has seized up.

I have a Shimano deore m530 on at the min, can't find the same to replace it with, will any shimano 9sp FD be a straight swap, was thinking of http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-deore-m591-conventional-9sp-front-mech/rp-prod40546

Don't mind paying more, but it's for a commuter, and the old m530 worked fine. so thinking cheap is fine for a FD?

Cheap is fine as front derailleurs are a lot less accurate than rear mechs.
Some things that are essential:
The replacement needs the cable pull to be the same as your present mech. Some mech work with the cable pulling from above (top pull) and others from below (bottom pull) Some mech are dual pull so if you get one of those it will work fine too.
If your current mech is clamped to your frame with a ring that goes right round the frame, the new one needs the same clamp size. The current one may be marked to indicate it's size. If you are running a Triple chainset the replacement needs to be able to achieve the same range of movement.

thanks, didn't know that about the pull, luckily the one I've picked out is duel pull, I'll measure the old one too.
