Hi All

Been offline for a fair number of years. Destroyed my commuter's bottom bracket last night and it really is time for a new bike. Recent introduction of Cycle to Work scheme at work, males this more appealing (and affordable). I would be interested in any Hybrid recommendations for a short commute with small hills, parks, paths, roads, etc. so needs to be fairly sturdy. Have been using a Dahon Cadenza for about 11 years, as I can get that to fold and put on the train, but folding's no longer an issue, as I have secure cycle parking at the station.

Not interested in a road bike ( I have one), Brompton (I have one) or fixed speed (3 knee surgeries) hence the Hybrid. Would consider a MTB type hybrid, but must be able to tackle the 1/4 mile hill on the road on the commute home.

Cheers

Chris

PS still using the original CycleChat jacket with spelling mistakes!!!!

Would you go for a low cost Hybrid or is there a specific price range in mind?

Somewhere between £500 and £1k.

Norco is a very good, and very overlooked brand I feel. I had an Indie 4 2015 last year for a while and it was by far the highest quality bike I've personally been on. It felt like a much more expensive bike. This is their top of the range hybrid , check it out on their site. They have quite a few little innovations of their own too which might appeal to you?

Fair enough but the OP mentioned c2w. Can't see how a German company could administer a scheme from HMRC even before Brexit

I don't understand your point about c2w?
