New chain

Hi, I was out riding my mountain bike, 24 speed earlier, and the chain started slipping on the rear small cogs.
I took a look at it, and it was noticeably twisted around one area, which would have been why:

The chain appears to be a KMC Z51 8 speed chain [1/2"x3/32"] (I have 112 links on my chain).

So there seems to be a lot of these on ebay (with 116 links, I think I have to lose a few), like this:

I'm just wondering if there are any better ones that are stronger/more reliable or gold coloured would be nice too.
I don't mind paying a bit more, but not crazy money though. But obviously I need something that would fit which is why I'm asking for advice here.

Personally i wouldn't buy that chain as it joins with a pin, better to use a KMC missing link which are easier to use and get right. Search for a KMC x8 chain and stuff will come up for about £11 that come with a missing link.

Thanks, that was helpful, I got an X8 99 from wiggle for £11.99, seems to be a good chain from the reviews.

Sounds good! You will need a chain splitting tool to remove the extra links that come on the chain, it is likely to be a bit long when it arrives.
