Bought this cannondale at the weekend and after 10 miles this has happened, normal or something wrong? All road miles.

Loch side.
No, it is not normal. That's from the chain getting stuck between the chainstay and chainrings, due to poor shifting technique or, poor front derailer adjustment.

First of all, looks like the chain came off and did that
damage, most likely due to poor derailleur setup,
this is the fault of who ever set up the bike, so up to
them to sort it, I would be looking for a replacement.

To fix this, you would have to pull off the crank,
shift cable too,
Get some sandpaper and lightly clean the scuffed areas,
making sure all is kept dry, and put a coat or two of
model paint on there, use masking tape to isolate the area
being sanded and painted.

But to me, whoever sent the bike out so badly adjusted
that the chain came off the ring is responsible for the problem.

Take it back and ask for a refund, there is no way I would trust the
mechanical ability of the shop who supplied that bike, imagine if
the chain coming off and catching skidded the bike and you
ended up under a car.
