Hey Guys,

I am thinking of ordering a Boardman Team Carbon.
I have read a few reviews from a number of different sources, each of which say that it is a great bike but there are a few minor things that could be changed.

Has anyone had any experience with this bike, and can suggest any changes that might need to be made?

Thanks

I have the 2010 version, i think the new version have changed the specs around a bit... shimano 105 i think instead of the sram rival that I have on mine... I think the price has gone up as well.

I absolutely love the team carbon!! can not fault it for the money, I think i prefer sram to shimano, after getting used to the double tap, but the shimano 105 is a well respected groupset too.

As for changes, I had issues the brake pads they wore out after about 300 miles and did a pretty rubbish job of stopping the bike. Ive changed them for much better pads which has improved things a great deal there not perfect but they do the job. The tyres went next to go after the brake pads getting way to many punctures... but apart from that I think the bike is spot on! I've put 1600 odd miles on mine, still runs as sweet as when i first got it.... after a proper LBS set it up I must add!!

Your best bet would be to order from the web site, and I believe it will come assembled and ready to go direct from the boardmans factory. I wouldn't trust Halfords with setting it up or servicing it.

Now it is not in the C2W budget, i would start looking at places like Planet X or Ribble who have bikes for that price with better setup's.

who ever thought it was a good idea to market the new team carbon over the C2W budget is stupid.

I know the OP said nothing about C2W but I think this is ridiculous a massive % of buyers will be using vouchers at that price or it will be competing with bikes at the 1k mark.

I don't see the problem with the Team Carbon being over £1000 as the Team is almost as good on the specs but under the magic line.

Its Alu unless thats the frame material you wanted in the first place !?

Hey apologies to the OP this is not answering any of your questions I dont want to ruin your thread.

It is a great bike the new frame looks great and BB30 should make it stiffer in the BB area. If you have money to look at changes straight away its got a 50x34T which might not be suitable for racing
