Hi,
Im looking to get into more road cycling, and considering these two bikes, and wondered if anyone would have any tips in choosing between the two, or anything in similar price bracket (around 3k) ..thanks a lot for any help in advance.
Giant TCR Advanced Pro
Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0
And also looking a bit at this one: 2016 Focus Izalco Max Disc Dura Ace Road Bike

Difficult to offer any useful comment really. Unless you have any specific objectives in mind like road racing (which would rule out the Focus for the forseeable future), then it is very difficult to buy a bad bike at that price level.

my first post here, but I have been lurking for a long time and reading the posts on this forum ...

I have a Giant TCR Composite 2 .... brilliant bike and I really wanted the Pro, but bought 2nd hand and could not find one within my budget. I have read many posts on other forums where guys who own a few good high priced bikes state that if they want to smash a Strava segment record, they hop onto their Giant TCR Pro

however, I recently bought an older Specialized S-Works transition E5 for daily commutes (200 miles per week) .... Columbus aluminium frame, aero carbon seatpost and aero carbon handlebars and stem, full Campy Chorus groupset, Campy wheels etc etc .... in mint condition for £500 and fits me like a glove, and it is very comfortable, even on bumpy roads

Weighs just over 7kg and flies like a rocket .... these were originally marketed as Tri/time trial bikes with aero bars .... bargains on ebay.... add some decent carbon wheels and you will have lots of spare cash left

I also looked a Canyon, but the handlebar stem is slammed right down.... I chatted live with one of their on-line reps andsaid that if they would leave a bit of stem so that I could raise the handlebars /adjust them to suit me, I would buy one .... the guy said that thet could not, so I gave that a miss

with your budget, also have a look at a good used Scott Foil or a Cervelo S5 or S3

Check out a Rose X lite also. But they fluctuate with the Euro rate so may not be as much of a bargain at the moment. Was great value when I bought mine earlier on in the year.
