New Beetle - racks?

Any ideas on rear racks for a New Beetle, I don't want to put roof bars on and nor do I want to add a trailer hitch.

The main problem is that the rear windscreen is a freestanding sheet of glass with no frame around it so the carrier straps have to clip on to the glass risking pulling it away from the tailgate.

The wife has one and I looked into it once, though never bothered. You can get a beetle specific rear carry rack. It carryie them at the back and very high, and was about 150 to 200 quid at the time - unless of course you went straight through a VW dealership in which case it'd be more like 500!

Google it and you should find them - that's what I did. If you were asking if there were any 'fit all' racks that could work, I didn't want to risk it, and assumed it would be a 'no' due to the weird shape of the car.
