Hi, can anyone recommend one of these for a road bike? I've got a matt black frame so looking for a clear one, and heard that the neoprene ones are easier to fit on and also clean, though grateful for any other viewpoints.

Ta.

I bought some of THIS for my matt CAAD10. It's not the thickest but it does the trick and looks far better than having shiny patches all over the place. It's on a roll so you cut your own chainstay protector out

Clear neoprene has yet to be developed, along with transparent aluminium (Star Trek joke)

Heli tape like smokey said, although black neoprene won't look out of place on a stealthy black frame.

Neoprene goes on nicely, even over funny-shaped tubing, because it is elastic - not so sure some of the other suggested materials have this useful property.

I think the clear stick on gel is a solid thermoplastic polyurethane material.

Neoprene is some kind of synthetic rubber that is foamed.

I am not a chemical engineer though so I could be wrong.
