need winter glove help

hi being a newbie to cycling this is my first winter can anyone point me in the right direction as to what are the good waterproof gloves that will keep me warm as well also I have hands like shovels many thanks

Mitts not gloves would be your man.. and maybe a wind shield got me through many winters.

as opposed to freezing thumbs plus freezing fingers

Any mitts or gloves for cold weather should be both windproof and large enough that your hand is a loose fit inside the glove. Size XXXL is your friend.

Quite, on a hybrid your fingers are wrapped around the handlebars while your thumbs are more exposed changing the gears. I do apologise I should have been more bike specific, please accept my apologies.
