Ok, so fine with the gravel bike .. 32-34
Not so with the road bike ... 34-28.
Not as young as i used to be the hills today killed me.
Some sage advice from the CC knowledge base most gratefully received.

Put a 34 cassette on it.

The rd will probably take it if it's a long cage

Just make sure the chain is long enough for a big Big ring situation.

Just check if Ultegra will do a 34. I have 105 long cage 10 speed that is listed as a 32 but I run a 34 on it. Goes up walls.

If cost is important buy a Spa subcompact crankset (46/30) and sell the Ultegra crankset. Leave rd and cassette.

Probably would work out at zero cost.
