I'm looking, in the near future (spring time) to upgrade my frame to a Planet X pro carbon. For £299 it seems a bargain.

Anyway, I've eyed up the geometry on their website and can't seem to make heads nor tails of it.

From what I can see, the head tube is slightly shorter, the top tube longer and the seat tube is 40mm shorter than my bike. Which confuses my brain. How does this work? It seems a weird shape and too small for me!

Anyway, here's the pages with geometry on.

My original RT-58 which fits me like a glove: http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXRT...id=CPXztoGho8cCFUUcGwodr2UMXQ#CBPXRT58ALUAPEX

The potential upgrade - pro carbon:http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXSLPVEL2/planet-x-pro-carbon-campagnolo-veloce-colours-road-bike

The guys have said it is more 'racey' which I assume means I'll have to adopt a slightly more aggressive position. Which I'm fine with.

I'm on the large(56) RT-58 and would assume I'd be on the large(52) on the pro carbon.

Its racy because of the shorter headtube and the longer top tube. If you compare the reach and stack of the two bikes you will find that the Large in both is not horrifically different. The reach can certainly be compensated by using a different stem if you really start to struggle. You won't fully know until you try one, but I would say if you are comfortable on the Large in the RT-58 and are happy to be a little lower and more stretched out (racy) then the Large Pro will be a reasonable size. However, if you are borderline sizing on the RT-58 then you may want to see if you can get an extended ride on the Pro.

You could always try and replicate roughly the Pro position on the RT-58 by moving the stem below the spacers and getting a longer stem.

I've got a Planet pro and according to their sizing I should have been on a small and after looking at the measurements I went for a medium and still felt too upright and had put a longer stem on it.........:surrender:
