So I just started getting into cycling, i've been riding my dads vintage faggin.
He wants to take me to Hotter in Hell, which is in roughly 2 weeks from now. I'll only be doing the 65 miles.

I've narrowed my choices down to a Orbea Aqua TSR , or a Cannondale caad 8.
I've been learning a lot over the past couple days about components and the bike brands in general, but i know there are people that are way more knowledgeable than i am.

My question is, which bike would you guys recommend? I provided 3 links, because i cant remember which caad8 my Local bike shop had, one has sora components and the other tiagra. I know tiagra is a step above the sora, but i only posted both because i cant remember which one the shop had, they might even have both.

I like the orbea because i was reading that orbea cares about the geometry of the bike a lot more, and the frame is similar to their Orca, is that true?

Please help me guys!

I can't imagine Cannondale not caring about their geometry less than any other manufacturer. In fact they'll be *hit hot on it like all the other big guys.

If those bikes fit you and feel good to ride they'll be nice to have bikes.

Have you looked at Trek/Giant etc?

i dont really like the trek 1.1 or 1.2
The Giant Defy, i looked at today. I guess i need to ride em, and see which one feels better.
I wanted something with 20 speeds, i guess thats not possible for a starter bike?
Do you recommend a Giant Defy over the Orbea or cannondale?

Giant Defy 1 for me. Tried all the big names but the Defy felt right for me.
Go and try as many as you can - then decide

I have a 2013 caad 8 105 which I am selling matt black only to save up for the carbon cannondale. I have tried many an the cannondale is by far the best bike I rode for me... I have done a few 56 milers, and am doing a 117 in two weeks...

thanks a lot guys. I'm going to test ride some tomorrow with my pops.
We shall see which one rides the best.

I really like the Orbea though just how it looks, and the fact that you don't see many here in Texas.
Also the Shop that sells the Orbea is the best in town, the other shops call them for parts and the mechanics even get tips/tutorials from them.
