Nearest track to Lancaster?

Looking at Lancaster for Uni...great road cycling area, what is there in the way of tracks?

Probably the nearest is the Manchester Velodrome I would have thought.

Wikipedia has a list of tracks including one allegedly near Liverpool

As you can see, if this list is anywhere near complete there aren't any anywhere near Lancaster. A lot of them are distributed more in the "middle" of the country.

Kirkby was demolished a couple of years ago leaving just Manny Velodrome indoors or
grass at roundhay park, leeds. you could always use the salt ayre road circuit. always criterium series tere in the summer

I'd have thought Salt Ayre was the closest cycle track

Or did you mean the closest velodrome?

Just wanting to know if it is worth building up a track bike for while I am at Uni

If you intend using the Manchester velodrome, you can hire track bikes there.
