Out for a quiet afternoon ride yesterday on a recently resurfaced A road. I had my head down as I picked up the pace and then as I lifted my head to look well ahead my view was block by a jeep coming straight at me as he over took a lorry 
I always wear a bright yellow top and as I'm not what you would call 'slim' I feel that I look like a Belisha Beacon and should be easily seen
However I'm convinced this driver hadn't seen me before he went to overtake as he skimmed down the side of me and I was already riding with-in a foot of the curb
On the return leg I had another driver do the same, however he did see me once out in my lane and decided the best course of action was to slow down and stay level with the car he was overtaking
He did leave plenty of room at all times so I was not worried by his actions.
I told the wife about the near miss, her first reaction..........'I could have been a rich widow then!' followed by, 'did you get the registration?'........errr no, I saw the jeep a second before it passed me doing somewhere around 60 mph!
Stay safe out there guys, it's a jungle!
