Here for rides.
oh my.
oh my oh my.
what a ride.
what a delight.
Glasgow to Callander last Friday panniered up trekking style in the company on one cyclist in the pouring rain. The Corries Cafe in Balloch is the site of a small piece of heaven on earth and has Scotland's most effective central heating radiators.
Callander to Kenmore last Saturday unpanniered fast touring stylee in the company of 750+ cyclists doing the second part of the Rob Roy Challenge in the pouring rain. The first part was a 16 mile hike from Drymen to Callander. Which gave me blisters.
Going to go back and do the rest, the hard part, as soon as I can get the funds and time together. In the meantime the tourer needs TLC, a new chain, new brake pads, one new rear rotor, (it ate one pair of pads and gouged the disc over the course of two days riding covered in effect in grinding paste), new mudguards, and as a result of sans mudguards riding off road in torrential rain I fear my Brooks Champion Flyer Special may well be ruined. But you know what? I couldn't care less, it was worth it for the views up Glen Ogle and alongside Loc Tay.
