OK folks, Will Geraint Thomas be able to retain his jersey this year ? If not who will be champ ?

And also does anyone know if it's being shown live ? It was last year but can't seem to see it listed anywhere.

ITV4 will be showing highlights of the race at 5pm on Saturday July 2, immediately following their live coverage of the Tour de France's opening stage.

Does anyone know what the route is? It's in Northumberland, apparently 'somewhere north of Newcastle' according to the London based press. I can't find the actual route anywhere on the interweb.
If it goes to the north end of Northumberland then I'd go and see it.

It's on the Stamfordham / Matfen circuit, including the climb up to Ryal.

According to my Sky box it's on ITV4 next saturday at 1630.

I did the northern rock cyclone yesterday over a similar course to the championship course today. I was in my bottom gear out of the saddle going up the Ryals yesterday. Aparently the pros do it sat down on the big ring. Immense!
