Narrow cyclo-cross tyres but for a mtb

Need some 26 x whatever you recomend tyres that I can use for cyclo-cross. would like to spend as little as possible.

them conti 1.5s are good but they're £50 a pair, but the steel bead ones are cheaper, and no-one would notice the weight.

If you are running discs, I have seen guys using mtbs with disc hubs and 700c rims. Means that you can run normal cross tyres. As a bonus, you can use these wheels on the road with normal 23mm tyres.

the best 26" tyres i've found is the
conti xc or the schwalbe black shark mud.
both in 1.5. conti rear, black shark front works for me.
they ain't cheap, but if thats what you want, then you gonna have to pay

I've not tried either but both of these were on my shortlist when I using a MTB for CX races.

I now kind of wish I had gone down the route of 700c wheels on the MTB.

The MTB just feels so much more sure footed the CX bike.

conti's would be the only optoin for me, the other makes of 26'' tyres at 1.5's dont seem to be up to the same quality

btw what cross orginisation do you race in
