Just picked up my new bike and had to tell the world (well you lot will do for starters). A Spesh Tricross sport form Edinburgh cycles in Manchester, and rode back home to Accy. En route I discovered a couple of things 1. I hate riding in Manchester (I think every driver was out to trash my new toy) 2. They put crap pedals on new bikes. 3. Loved the bike (pedals excluded) Sorry can't tell you any more as it chucked it down. halfway home. So I need to dry it off and put it to bed ( this novelty will soon cease)

Hence why bikes don't come with pedals. Your meant use your preference

I've got a Tricross, fab bike. The pedals are meant to be "get you home only" pedals....or so Evans told me when I bought it. I soon put some spd pedals on it.

I got one of these two weeks ago. Did t even ride it with the pedals it came with. Put spd's straight on. Great bike, I love it.

I have one too. I love it.
The only thing I found is the tyres seemed to have zero protection :excl:

Enjoy it half as much as I have enjoyed mine and you'll have got more than your monies worth ^_^

New pedals ordered last night. I borrowed the platform pedals from the hybrid for today (look a bit big) but a great improvement on the stock ones. Did 36 miles on the canal bank today. From Huncoat up Cargo café at Foulridge, this has just about every state of towpath to cope with. It took it all in its stride (to be honest I didn't expect it not to). it's still early doors yet, but first impressions are all good.
(Hi Mynydd, Looks like yours is the same as mine)

Mine is the 2011 sport, with carbon forks. I got mine because I live on top of a mountain with a couple of VERY rough tracks down the side of it, it handles them no prob at all. And the gearing is great for getting back up. I did have an annoying creak in one of the pedal arms, but the shop put a new crank etc. In and it is now lovely and quiet, am really enjoying it

I swapped the tyres before I even got out the shop!
