Mystery gap

Does anyone else think the gap between my frame and the upper seal looks big? I was adjusting my stem this morning on the stand when the whole fork dropped out. I've put everything back as it was but I don't remember that bigger gap at the top or bottom but can't see how it could be any other way???

You are missing a bit or you have not put bits back in the right order.!

So my headset is a FSA Orbit I've taken it apart again and the only thing I can think of that I've got in the wrong order are two very thin metal washers that I was putting directly over the bearings. I'm not sure what they are for but if I move them to above the compression ring the fit is a lot closer. I've found this image online but can't find anything that shows me what these washers are???

The FSA website mentions micro spacers that should go between the top cover and the compression ring.

Thanks Alien8 - everything apart again and now back in the correct order. Still a biggish gap so will get LBS to have a quick look. Thanks again everyone!
