I was just down with my grandad at a rec yard and we stumbled across a big tin labeled ' free bits'. At first glance it was just full of old nuts and bolts but after a little digging we started finding some very handy bike bits. However we then started to find a few bits of Campag, we found 1 slightly worn front cone and 2 immaculate rear cones which were very nice. But, we also founds two bits that we weren't sure of. One at first we thought was just a handle from an old campy qr skewer but after closer inspection we thought it might be something else. Our best guess is that these two bits were from a quick release seat post clamp pre 1960 but neither of us had heard of Campagnolo making such contraption. The other campy piece we think is a part of this is a perfect fit for going through the seat clamp holes (don't know proper name...). Anyway, would be very interested to hear if anyone could shed more light on what we found, thanks.

Ok, we just thought that because the part that you would insert was not very long it wouldn't fit in the skewer part. But if you think its a part of a qr skewer you're probably right. Thanks

Ah, thank you very much. That clears it up. Not too special then but not half bad for a free tin!

Yep, the Tipo levers were held with circlips

And the NR with little nuts

The Tipo levers became curved before the NR
