Returned from a ride yesterday-first time out wearing my lovely new endura neoprene over shoes and I've worn a blinkin hole in them. On the ankle almost all the way through. Weird thing is its left foot so its not from the chainset. Didnt feel them rubbing and cant see what theyve been fouling on. Anyone experienced anything similar?. Got me wondering whether theres a bike set up issue and im doing something weird with my feet without realising. Any suggestions welcome!

Your outer left ankle should never come into contact with any part of the bike. If it's you inner ankle then you are rubbing against the crank. I don't see what else it could be.

I agree with Mark,if it`s the inner ankle then it`s got to be rubbing against the crank, but if that`s the case I would have thought it would take many, many miles to go through neoprene. It could well be a manufacturing fault.I`d certainly consider returning them.

I wear mine through around the heel area, it has to be the chainstay, but I'm never aware of hitting it. My shoes have scuffs in the same area. In fact, on my right shoe the leather's worn through to the plastic heel cup!

You could have worn the hole from the inside out if the shoe is not a good match with that particular overshoe.

Is there a sticky out bit on the shoe under the bit where the over shoe wore through?

Good thread this, I fitted a new drivetrain on my MTB about 300 miles back and I've noticed the drive side crank arm is scratched to hell. As I wear soft trainers I was a bit stumped to explain it.
