Was supposed to be going on an MTB ride with the Last of the Summer Wine (Southern section) Group ie my regular Monday ride, but i spotted a broken spoke before setting off. Bugger!
N'er mind, I'll go for a spin on the Tricross. From Wimbledon, up onto Epsom downs. Through Headley. Across to and up Ranmore. Skirt Dorking. Up the Zig-Zags. Along to Walton. Back across to the Downs. Through Drift Bridge.
Feeling fantastic. 30 hilly miles and my feet have not touched the ground yet. Time for a stop and a chat at Corridori cycles.
Mistake! Well not really, I had been gearing up to spend my SMIDSY payout.... Now i just have to wait a few weeks for my Van Nicolas Yukon/105/Harry Rowland hand-built wheels plus Garmin 800 to arrive.
So, if i hadn't broken a spoke this morning i would not have spent £2,500!
One expensive spoke!
