My first foray into clip-in pedals started only a couple of months ago. As I wasn't sure that it was for me I bought some of the Shimano "flat on one side and spd on the other" pedals.
I bought some cheap Muddyfox shoes from SportsDirect (RBS300) All was well for my first couple of short rides. Then I went and used them in a Spin Class. All was well during the class until I tried to unclip. My foot was stuck firm, took some fairly hard yanking to get the thing free. However all this did was shear the thread on the nut inside the shoe. I have taken the nut out and have looked for a replacement online everywhere but nothing looked right.
In the end I ordered one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shimano-A10...&qid=1403987812&sr=8-1&keywords=spd+cleat+nut
But this does not fit under the plate in the shoe. As can be seen by the size comparison in the image.
What I am basically asking is does anyone know where I can get hold of the type of Nut shown at the top of the image below?
It needs to fit underneath the contraption in the middle.
I am on the verge of sending them back to Sports Direct and buying some proper Shimano shoes!
Thanks in advance!
