Had a strange ticking sound coming from my BB/ crank area on my last ride so I took the bike down to my LBS to have it looked at.

They sorted it no problem and offered to check the bike over, they discovered the rear gear cable could do with replacing and tightened everything and gave it a mini service.

Anyway on paying for it they only charged me £20 labour and nothing for the gear cable. 'Don't worry, they only cost a few quid' said the mechanic with a smile.

I felt so pleased with the service they provided I immediately spent £150 on a new outfit!

Very very clever.

A friend of mine had the same problem except his friendly LBS changed his BB only to find it was his SPD'S !

Specialized Secteur, and I use the Bike Shed near Arreton.

They seem to know their way around the bike and always seem to look after the bikes in their care. We are a bit short of options on the Island.

Ah yer you have the same bike as me nearly I have the Allez Sport 2010. :-) I had both same issues the rear cable stretched and frayed and the clicking sound which yes turned out to be the pedals which needed greasing. Tav cycles in Ryde charged me a couple of quid for the cable and offered to fit it for nothing which was decent of them the pedals a mate sorted since he had the tool that to get them undone. Yer there arent many over here but they all seem fairly decent guess if they werent they wouldnt last long as word gets round fast.
