After a big 'thumbs down' from the GF to the Batavus 21" frame with 5 rediculously high gears, I was in solumn desperation whether I would ever get a ladies bike of the correct size.

But lo, driving my son home yesterday, I saw a ladies bike chained to a car with a notice on it "Ladies Bike 4 Sale, £20".

It was a 19" frame. ;)

Got it home, swapped 18T sprocket for 24T sprocket, put in two links of chain and hey presto, SUCCESS:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

The 24T sprocket came of MY Apollo County to give 38, 50 & 67 inches. A 22T went back on my Apollo County.

GOLDEN rules when taking Wife or GF cycling.
1/ Let her ride the lightest bike.
2/ Make sure her's has the lower gears.
3/ DON'T go racing ahead and leave her behind. ( Let her draft you ).
or
3/b Let her lead - when the wind is behind.

Angelfishsolo

A Velocipedian
A very nice machine indeed. It looks in beautiful condition as well. It seems for ever since I so that style of handlebar and yet recently I am seeing them everywhere.

PS Like the rules for riding with the S/O ;)

..unless they are in the same league as some of the laydeez on the Spring into the Dales ride, in which case I'd definitely suggest the reverse course of action.
