So I decided to take my Condor (Gran Fondo) out for a proper "run" in the countryside this morning as I felt that the daily commute (9 miles each way) doesn't really do it justice.

I took her out into the Hertfordhsire countryside and cycled 35 miles at an average of 15.5 mph (so plenty of room for improvement).

I must say, it was the most fun I have had (legally) for as long as I can remember! I can't wait to go out again next Sunday (although I'll probably try to drink less alcohol next Saturday night)!

Nice one :becool:

Yup - the weather was fab (although my feet were a bit cold by the end of the ride).

I'm hoping to go a bit further next week (if my wife lets me out for that long ... I was gone for quite some time this morning!).

Think I will ache in the morning, but it was worth it. And hopefully I will have burnt a few calories whilst I was at it (I'm desperately trying to lose weight!)

I couldn't agree more ...!

I'm already excited about my ride this Sunday (weather-/wife-/kids-permitting). Hoping to do 50 miles (provided that my bum doesn't get too numb!)
