My first century - The Mallorca 'Max Hurzeler 167km'

Last Saturday I did my first 100 mile ride...
In hindsight, 167km of mountain roads with 2500 metres of climbs was probably not the one to choose to pop my cherry, but hey ho.

When my colleagues and I booked this in January we thought Mallorca would be warm, sunny and dry in late April... how wrong we were !!!



It started raining about 10 minutes in, and didn't stop... for 9 hours
We had rain, hail, fog, rain, cloud, rain, wind, rain, and some more rain, just for good measure.

Anyway, got an EPIC sufferscore on Strava http://app.strava.com/activities/51584018 and something to aim for next year. Hopefully it will be dry ! We have to go back as we didn't see anything of the mountains on most of the ride, so I have no pictures of our efforts !

Bring on the (relatively tame) Bournemouth 100 miler on 9th June

One of my clubmates did this but the full 312km , said there were guys falling all over the place on the descents due to the wet!

Huge congrats from me! That is at the very top of my list of cyclists goals. I'd just love to cycle in the mountains of Majorca. Well done for completing it in such dreadful conditions.
