So pleased today as I set out on my longest ride yesterday and completed 52 miles in a time of 3 hours and 30 minutes ,only stopping the once ,average speed 14.8 miles an hour .strangely I thought I would be in bits today but feel fine just a numb bum, can't believe how much I enjoy my bike.i can recommend the boardman comp it's fantastic.

Wow. Well done. I struggled with 30 yesterday so I think it will be a couple of months before I get up to 50 at that speed. Shame the summer is nearly over

I think the 100 is a distance away the last mile or so was hard going and was glad to be finished ,I just hope this weather lasts for next few months as I don't want to stop now . Good luck boxer the only tip I can give you is a steady place and a high carb snack half way round and lots of liquid

Mo I was lucky around Melton Mowbray is quite hilly but the last part of my ride was in the fens so nice and flat .living in Perthshire you have a lot more bloody big hills

What's wrong with riding in the Winter?

Hopefully nothing if we get another mild one! Had a rest day today after my long (for me) ride yesterday and feel like I have ants in my pants with not being out. Hope I'm not getting hopelessly addicted!

Just off to walk the dog instead. Looking forward to getting out again tomorrow though.

Last mile is always hard going, whether you have done 30, 50 or 100 miles. Its psychological.

The thing I find hard about the last mile or so I do no matter how far I have been is the 6-10% climb depending which way I climb back up to the house, one is slightly less steep but much longer the other is steeper but quite short.
