I've ordered a Specialised Sectuer from my LBS and this will mean retiring my Chas Roberts road bike.

Its approx 10 years old with mostly Dura Ace components (brakes, front and rear mech, 8 speed shifters)

It will be surplus to my needs and I'm thinking of selling it, but have no idea what to ask for it as everything has moved on now in terms of spec etc.

Any suggestions where I should price this? If its not worth much, I'll just be keeping it, but I'd rather get some cash for it and let some else get the use of it.
I've been scouring the net to find something similar, but as yet haven't seen anything.

I'll try and get some pics up later today.

Any comments welcome.

Cheers,
Andy

Obviously the price will depend on condition and whether it catches buyers attention etc. This is a recent example.

The irony of selling secondhand quality bikes, is that you are likely to get less money selling it whole than selling all the components individually. Generally I would expect one would get ~50% more in parts - there is certainly a healthy market for high end Campag or DuraAce components, and obviously Chas Roberts frames. Not that I advocate people break up their bikes to sell (and there is labour, trouble and time involved), am just stating what I see.

Thanks - a couple of good links there and the prices look like it's worth me selling it.

I'd hate to break it up, so I'll see if I get any interest in it as a whole bike first.
