I wouldn't listen to music, mainly for safety but also because part of cycling is being out in the environment, but if I did listen to music (or was deaf) I would make sure I had good mirrors.

i use a ipod a lot of the time i know a lot of people say this is dangerous
however i am a lot more observant when i use it
i cycle alone after a while i get bored so this helps me to be fair go bit further
me to bu love podcasts

I would, but I really can't be bottomed with the extra faff, of taking something with me, the record deck, all the records, battery pack, headphones, sorting out the volumes, what to listen to. I just can't be bothered, I just ride my bike and rant at the world in general, to myself.

Perhaps if someone was to invent something tiny, that you could put a few tunes on...

Hi there, yes i completely agree that it makes me a lot more observant in whats going on around me when headphones are in although i don't have them that loud that I can't here any vehicles around and also its an encouragement to keep you going on longer solo rides.

I,ve got it rigged upto a mini speaker , its not that load but I can hear it and hear traffic around me.
it can give you real boost, -
