Oh, and I gave the girls a does of flea treatment each while I was waiting for my :cuppa: to brew.

Am now certain the fleas came from the rats, but since I purrsuaded a brick into the hole they were using to get inside the cavity wall just over a month ago, I've not seen any ratty intruders since. And there have been no new holes in my windowsill either. But will still have to keep treating the girls for at least another couple of months just in case there are any fleas lurking that have evaded my extermination efforts.

Hedgehogs are a common source too, use to look after next doors dog. She had a thing for hunting them out and regularly got covered in fleas. They always left out the flea spray along with food and stuff for for her. One of ours got up close to one when let out before bed he ended up having having a late night bath.

There's somebody on the local Facebook buy and sell page selling what looks to me to be a cheap '80s single speed roadster painted in luminous green and fitted with drop handlebars with the rims, chainset and brake callipers painted yellow. :stop:

It's a rare singlespeed racing bike apparently. No price given.

I'm sure it is rare. I doubt there could be anything else as hideous in existence.

As we don't have a Not Very Mundane At All Actually News thread, I'll stick this here. Had a very long night out last night…

Out in London last night for a Godflesh (for those who don't know these industrial metal legends, it's the kind of music you'd play to kick out your guests at the end of the party. An awesome show that more than compensated for what followed)…at 229 in Great Portland Street- a venue I'd never visited before, and in an area I don't know that well. Get a bit lost going there, and left early (2250) to allow plenty of time to make the last train (2332). Having ridden 6.5 miles instead of 3 and with numerous wrong turns I get back to Waterloo just after 2345. Plan B (Southampton train & ride from Parkway) not an option as a landslip has closed the line. So a (slow) train to Guildford it is. The next train from there is a bus, says National Rail app, which becomes a train at Petersfield. Get to Guildford at 1.09, and chuck the ticket in the recycling. Three and a bit slow hours later (9mph average, I had no food or water and had been up since eight), get to Petersfield. Train at 5.46. Decide to try and ride on. Head south to Buriton. Kiln Lane is impassable- covered with ice. Route via West Meon was likely to be the same. A3: been there, done that…So back to the station. Buy ticket, only a fiver, and shiver away, no shelter and no vending machines. Train is late in, and sits there for half an hour. Back home just after seven. Slept soundly for a few hours...Oh, tried phoning home (nineteen times!) to advise what was happening- no answer (hearing loss/sound asleep/under the duvet).
And relax…

The joys of life for a party animal.

The girls are largely indoor, so Hoghedges are a less likely source of the passengers.

Mesdames Poppy and Lexi have free access to the garden during the day, but it's their choice if they want to go outside or not. Not, as has been the case lately, they barely use the tray in the hallway as it's too cold. It's the upstairs tray that's getting all the traffic LOL.
