Wet miserable day but the snow has gone locally at least.
Made it to the library and checked out access again. In future I will take my car or in good weather the trike right down to the door as there is nothing saying I cannot. Problem most likely is that lazy able bodied people may see this and copy.
Nothing much has changed but took out a couple of cycling theme books which are there because I asked for them about 4 years ago.
Mark Beaumont and his trip round the world in 80 days.
I once got a birthday present of a ticket to a show he was doing in Oban. Bit of a shambles really as this was the first one and nothing worked so started about an hour late. The audience were very tolerant fortunately and took it all in good spirit.

Had a lovely luncheon of a beef sandwich, a banana, an apple, half an avocado and two :cuppa:

Then went out and cut up all the wood I hauled in this morning, dumped the logs in the garage, swept up the sawdust and then topped up the wood bins in the house.

I am now sitting down with a :cuppa: and a chocolate biskit.

Oh, and I gave the girls a does of flea treatment each while I was waiting for my :cuppa: to brew.

Am now certain the fleas came from the rats, but since I purrsuaded a brick into the hole they were using to get inside the cavity wall just over a month ago, I've not seen any ratty intruders since. And there have been no new holes in my windowsill either. But will still have to keep treating the girls for at least another couple of months just in case there are any fleas lurking that have evaded my extermination efforts.

As we don't have a Not Very Mundane At All Actually News thread, I'll stick this here. Had a very long night out last night…

Out in London last night for Godflesh (for those who don't know these industrial metal legends, it's the kind of music you'd play to kick out your guests at the end of the party. An awesome show that more than compensated for what followed)…at 229 in Great Portland Street- a venue I'd never visited before, and in an area I don't know that well. Get a bit lost going there, and left early (2250) to allow plenty of time to make the last train (2332). Having ridden 6.5 miles instead of 3 and with numerous wrong turns I get back to Waterloo just after 2345. Plan B (Southampton train & ride from Parkway) not an option as a landslip has closed the line. So a (slow) train to Guildford it is. The next train from there is a bus, says National Rail app, which becomes a train at Petersfield. Get to Guildford at 1.09, and chuck the ticket in the recycling. Three and a bit slow hours later (9mph average, I had no food or water and had been up since eight), get to Petersfield. Train at 5.46. Decide to try and ride on. Head south to Buriton. Kiln Lane is impassable- covered with ice. Route via West Meon was likely to be the same. A3: been there, done that…So back to the station. Buy ticket, only a fiver, and shiver away, no shelter and no vending machines. Train is late in, and sits there for half an hour. Back home just after seven. Slept soundly for a few hours...Oh, tried phoning home (nineteen times!) to advise what was happening- no answer (hearing loss/sound asleep/under the duvet).
And relax…

Next time, take the tube from Great Portland Street to Embankment to save the faff - you can take an unfolded bike on the Circle Line outside of peak hours - and then just ride the mile or so across the river to Waterloo. ;)
