I don't have a ticket, simply some twenty years' experience of managing some woodland - aka my garden. I've definitely "learned by doing" and there's a knack to working out where something's going to drop.

Problem is, a small error at the base gets translated into a much bigger error at the top end.

It's rare a dangly tree defeats me. A series of v-shaped cuts around waist height is usually enough to allow gravity to snap the trunk. Then it's just a matter of pulling the top part free.

Nothing wrong in that in my case pay masters tend to get twitchy if don’t

Arses need to be covered. That's the difference between doing stuff for yourself and doing stuff for other people. :okay:

As ranted about mentioned on Thursday, I offered to go in to work on Friday to sort out a load of previously identified goods being imported for those of questionable taste. Who in their right mind would want a 6' x 3' Versace table and set of 6 chairs in their living room (fake obviously - Versace have confirmed it's not something they make!). Just the thing to go with the mirrored 'Chanel' side tables we stopped a few years ago as now installed in our tea point/rest area at work.

This post has just reminded me, I was on the bus back from Wimborne yesterday, the route goes through a large estate of detached bungalows. There are large grass verges, and on the corner of one road someone has created a representation of two deer grazing out of small branches about 3” in diameter, the antlers are the twiggy ends of short branches and it looks really effective.
