I've downloaded a bunch of "classics" that I've always meant to read (some were even on the required reading list at uni) that are out of copyright so they're free. (See previous "too cheap" comment.) And loads of samples. Including one from a friend's book that I feel I should get to support him but it's sci-fi so not really my cup of tea. Dilemma.

In the meantime, the dog's just come in from sunbathing on the patio (the stones hadn't warmed up enough for her to lie down in comfort), there are too many birds for me to count at the feeders, and I need more coffee and breakfast before starting the day. Lunchtime appointment and then round 2 at the gym. Not sure which will be worse...

No ... I'm still practicing my no Cake / no chocolate ... if I'm able to ... so far I'm succeeding today so I will carry on being good. I'm hoping to offset some food abstinence for alcohol abstinence

You are right ... they are rubbish cake ... now if you were talking a lemon drizzle cake, polenta cake or anything else it might be more tempting!

Either will do, I have a soft spot for doughnuts, cream or jam, and I'm partial to lemon drizzle cake as well. I might as well admit it, I just like cake!

I have been in the Highlands since the weekend, it hasn't rained once, and I rode a fat bike on the beach.

I saw my first Fat Bike on the flesh the other day, wow they are really something

It was my first encounter with one. Really good fun and very comfy riding on the sand.

Did you only try it on the beach? I see one going the opposite way to me on the roads occasionally, and he seems to have a reasonable turn of speed on it considering I assume the tyre adds a reasonable amount of weight.

I've been on a training course this week. I rode my bike to and fro all week, but I'm harbouring a cold, and the sore throat caused me to have a crap sleep overnight, so today I got the train to Cannon St.

Course finished today at 2:45. Went to Cannon St. No trains to West Wickham till 4:26. What to do?

Oh look, a Wetherspoons on the concourse..!
