I've just picked up a Soecialized Allez 24 on eBay to use through the winter.
I know the groupset is very basic but I'm sure it will do me as a winter bike.
Does anyone know if I can fit mudguards to the bike and if so can you recommend a make?
Cheers

Only ones that fit are the Crud ones. The groupset is pretty good actually.

I've had an Allez 24 for a couple of yrs and looked at putting some guards on for the winter but eventually decided to just stick with a muddy back rather than clip on cruds or similar. Have just done 200 miles on it during my hols in France and the basic 2300 groupset is not bad at all. IMO the Allez frame is great, so am sure you'll have a great winter riding it.

Thanks guys. I pick the bike up next week so will maybe check out the Cruds.
Good to hear that the 2300 group set is not bad. I'd always assumed it to be quite basic.
That's a bonus! Got it at a good price and it will save my Roubaix over the winter

While most folk seem to love the MK2 Cruds, I've always preferred the MK1's myself, but never the less I updated my MK1's to MK2's when they came out, (because I could  ),but I just couldn't get the rear to fit right. I had a Focus Cayo Pro at the time. Perhaps it was me? I'll never know as I returned them and stuck with the MK1's and never had an issue with them. Just food for thought
