Hi all!
I have a Specialised X3 Sirrus bike with a problem!
The mudguard attaches to a small eye in the frame....but the eye in the frame (on the left end of A) has just come out from it's home in B, with no obvious way to 'fix it' in.

Anyone got a clue how this could be fixed?
A has no thread or any signs it was screwed in any way, and on the other side the hole in the frame is just that, with nothing visibly holding that side in!

(fyi, I will likely head down to Evans tomorrow - it happened on the other side a year ago and he fixed it, but I cannot see anything holding that side in!)

Thanks!

its a proprietary specialised "plug and play" fitting system.

there should somewhere tucked away be a recessed allen bolt that will screw into a back / side / somewhere of the hole that strut pops into to secure it.
Pick 2 below is the rear...

its a shoot idea, no idea what is wrong with standard threaded holes that most manufacturers have used since the dawn of time....

Ahhh!
Genius, @T4tomo :notworthy:

You cannot see it with the rack attached:

But when you unbolt that and raise it up.....there's the sneaky little 2.5mm allen bolt, hiding underneath:

Duly fixed - many thanks!
A slightly rubbish mechanism, indeed....but when you know about it, actually looks fine.

....my Iron to Iron ride will not need zip-ties.
Well, not at the start, anyway!

A set screw/grub screw is the croppiest way of securing a rod in a hole.
If you can get a longer bolt you can try dremelling a slot or hole in the tip of the stay to prevent just pulling out.
I would like to warn all buyers against Specialized Plug and Play bikes they are not fit for purpose.

Well, aside from this clearly ludicrous thing, I have to say my Sirrus X 3.0 has been great fun for me.

Can't argue that my crank arm breaking stopped it being fit for riding (during my LEJoG), although the Radstock bike shop fixed it up, & Evans replaced it all with something Better™.

Fit for purpose?
I'm still pedalling!
