I have a set of SKS chromoplastic mudguards and one of the nuts for the eyebolt on the stays has wriggled off - obviously didn't tighten it enough. Does anyone know the correct type (M5, M6 etc) please, so I can get some spares on Ebay?
Thanks for your help

Do you have a local hardware shop? Just cycle there and they'll find the right one and charge you pence - help your local shops, save money, be sure you get the right item and get a ride. Perfect

PM me... I have some old ones which are broken which I was soon to throw away... I can send you a couple of spares if you promise a suitable donation to charity to cover the postage!

I thought every every home had a box of odd nuts and bolts.
I often dismantle redundant equipment or machinery in order to further increase my stock, in fact one of my problems is the vast number of containers full of nuts and bolts in my house and sheds.

the trick with the box of spare nuts is always to be OCD about putting them in those sorter boxes, rather than 2kg of mixed screws in a biscuit tin.
If you have the latter arrangement - either spend an hour each evening sorting them out, or bin the biscuit tin and buy a pre-sorted set of (probably stainless) nuts and screws. It will be the best £50 (or less) you will ever spend.

Me too, but sod's law somehow you've never got the size you need?

I had the good fortune to fall heir to a storage system consisting of a wooden cabinet with 84 used tobacco boxes. Each one has a leather button handle and number on the front, and there is a card index system. This is all very well, but nutnboltoholics just keep collecting until all storage is filled and then some more:sad:.

If only I had a spare hour to sit and play with my nuts!
