mudguard damage to carbon fork

Hi All

Last night I took my SKS clip on mudguard off the front fork to fit a new brake caliper and was alarmed to see that the mudguard has taken the pain off the fork exposing the carbon fibre underneath. The carbon only seems to be lightly scuffed.

Should I be worried?

I'll add a photo later when I get home.

Wouldn't have thought so - just cosmetic damage not structural. But no doubt an expert will be along soon.

Seeing where you are, if unsure, you could try these guys http://www.sscentre.co.uk/index.html. Not used them myself so don't know what they are like.

Don't worry. Just re-lacquer to prevent water from penetrating the fibre.
