Online, there are loads of good sources, On One, Wiggle, Chain reaction, depends what you want.

Halfords do some good Dare2be stuff, and of course that means you can try it on.

Sizes are all over the place though, for example I am large in some stuff, xxl in others, so no substitute for trying it on. LBS and Evans therefore a good choice.

Knee pads do you intend on falling off?. I wear the same gear on the MTB as I do the road bike, apart from different shoes. Impsport is my choice most of the time for clothing and Lake with the Boa for shoes.

I wear knee pads. It gives me a bit more confidence on the loose stuff, and the stuff I ride tends to be rocky. A couple of years ago I came off on a track with a load of half bricks as ballast/hardcore, and took a big whack to my upper shin and knee. It took several weeks before it stopped bothering me, so I'll put them on everywhere. Even on smooth singletrack/ hard pack a 50 year old pair of knees will benefit from some protection, and as I like to push it a bit.........

totally know what you mean! i have come off my bike a few times and ripped skin off my knees so would rather not go through that again and i can push myself like u said.

I push quite hard, I also raced for many years, just thought body armour was only used by downhillers. I have been enlightened, not that I will do it though.
