Mtb front slx mech upgrade?

I've got a slx front mech and it is a bit of a pain changing up the front rings. It requires quite a bit of pressure which makes my thumb ache on longer rides. I'm thinking of getting an xt one to match the chain set. Will I notice the difference in regards to thumb pressure?

I wouldn't have thought so. My advice would be to put new cables on, inner and outer, and make sure the pivots on the mech are well lubricated. . The springs on an SLX won't be any stronger than XT.

Update: fitted the xt, much much much lighter action with same cables and trigger. It doesn't look damaged or worn, but is a different design to the slx.
