mtb beginner Tire help!!!!!!

hello everyone from Cyprus
im new to mtb and i need some help from some more experience guys
i own a 29" mtb (Ghost 2920) 2013 model and right now i drive it mainly in asphalt .. i know that sound silly but i cant afford now to buy a road bike. can anyone please suggest top 4-5 tires on the market today to switch with road tires lets say 70-80 % road and 20-30% offroad
any help appreciate and sorry for my English

I quite like the Maxxis Ikon on the 29er and in dry Cyprus conditions I guess they would be very good too.

I have done plenty of off-road on 700c Schwalbe Marathon. 32mm min.
700c=29"=700c=29"

The OP has not been back since he posted last August.

But members might like to know Schwalbe now offer a 29er Smart Sam Plus, which has their second tier Greenguard puncture protection.

The Marathon Plus MTB, which has the top level of protection, is not available in a 29er, or in 650b come to that.
