another twistgrip on one of my bikes has broken , so i have pulled the replacement apart to see why. it has cracked on the outer cover. it seems that the cable is not locating in the outer groove but winding around the centre.
there does not seem to be a way for the cable to go into the outer groove. when the cable is threaded it comes out easily into the gripshift but there is no way (that i can see) for it to go onto the groove. when i try to put in back together the cable tries to enter the groove but there is a portion which will not (because there is no groove there) and i think this is why it broke.
has anyone got any pics or diagrams of how the cable actually feeds?

thanks.

thanks. that's very use full, however it doesn't show the path of the cable internally. but i have managed to do a repair and it is working again. i assume now that the groove i referred to earlier is not for the cable which just wraps around the centre tube. it seems that they are breaking in the location of the spring.
